Day 1 : Auckland
Arrive in Auckland and transfer to the Sebel Suites for 1 night.
Day 2 : Hokianga
Morning departure to Hokianga in the Northland region. Afternoon Maori guided walk into the Waipoua forest, home to ancient kauri trees. Stay overnight at the Copthorne Hotel & Resort Hokianga. (B, D)
Day 3 : Paihia (Bay of Islands)
Morning cruise in Hokianga harbour, a significant and spiritual place for the Maori. In the afternoon, travel to the east coast visiting Kerikeri en route and the historic Waitangi Treaty House, the site where Maori chiefs signed a treaty with Queen Victoria’s representatives in 1840, giving birth to the nation. Stay 2 nights at the Copthorne Hotel & Resort Bay of Islands in Paihia. (B)
Day 4 : Bay of Islands • Russell
Morning dolphin cruise in the spectacular Bay of Islands or visit the Hole in the Rock. If dolphins are found, there may be an opportunity to swim with them (subject to weather conditions) or watch from the boat. Afternoon visit to Russell, New Zealand’s first capital. (B)
Day 5 : Auckland
Visit the ancient Kawiti glow-worm caves, then on to Auckland and overnight at the Sebel Suites. (B)
Day 6 : Rotorua
Travel south-east to Rotorua through Waikato’s farmlands and discover the area’s gold-mining past while strolling along the Ohinemuri river. Afternoon cruise by catamaran on Lake Rotoiti to visit otherwise inaccessible hot pools. Stay 2 nights at Novotel Rotorua Lakeside. (B)
Day 7 : Rotorua
Morning at leisure to explore Rotorua; a visit to the Rotorua museum is recommended. In the afternoon visit the beautiful Lake Tarawera and the Rainbow Springs Kiwi Wildlife Park. Enjoy a private lunch at the Buried Village Rotorua. (B, L)
Day 8 : Tongariro
See the thermal bubbling mud pools at Wai-OTapu, then drive to Tongariro via Huka Falls. On arrival in Tongariro you may like to take a walk in Tongariro National Park for some magnificent views over the area’s active volcanoes. Stay overnight at Chateau Tongariro Hotel. (B)
Day 9 : Napier
Drive to the seaside town of Napier for a guided walking tour of the town’s art deco architecture. Afternoon drive to Havelock North. Stay overnight at the Scenic Hotel Te Pania. (B)
Day 10 : Greytown • Wellington
Pass through small farming towns and stop at the historic Greytown with its antique and craft shops. Continue to New Zealand’s capital and take a city tour including views over the harbour from Mount Victoria. Overnight at the Bolton Hotel. (B)
Day 11 : Marlborough wine region • Nelson
Morning ferry crossing of the Cook Strait and the beautiful Queen Charlotte Sound to South Island. On arrival, drive into the Marlborough wine region for a wine-tasting at Forrest Estate vineyard, including the area’s famous sauvignon blanc, and a private light lunch. Continue on to Nelson Lakes National Park and Nelson, where you will stay 2 nights at Century Park Motor Lodge. (B)
Day 12 : Abel Tasman National Park
Explore the Abel Tasman National Park with a choice of a full-day scenic cruise or a shorter cruise with a coastal walk. New Zealand’s smallest national park protects 23,000 hectares of coastline with offshore islands, sandy beaches, estuaries and sheltered bays home to abundant wildlife including seals and dolphins. Day 13 : Methven
Drive south into the Southern Alps and on to the alpine hamlet of Methven. Stay overnight at The Ski Time Lodge. (B)
Day 14 : Aoraki / Mount Cook Village
Travel south to Aoraki / Mount Cook Village. En route, visit a homestead for lunch and the Church of the Good Shepherd beside Lake Tekapo. Stay overnight at the Hermitage Hotel. (B, L)
Day 15 : Queenstown
Morning at leisure. Join an optional walk through the valleys around Mount Cook or a cruise on a glacial lake (payable locally) . Then travel through alpine scenery to Queenstown. On arrival, board the Skyline Gondola for a scenic view of the town. Stay 3 nights at the Scenic Suites Queenstown. (B)
Days 16-17 : Milford Sound
Full-day tour to the Fiordland National Park for a relaxing cruise on the magnificent Milford Sound. Return to Queenstown via a scenic flight over the Southern Alps (weather permitting). Following day at leisure. (B)
Day 18 : Wanaka
Morning at leisure. Afternoon visit to Lake Wanaka via the former gold-mining town of Arrowtown, with lunch and local wine at a homestead near Wanaka. Overnight at Edgewater Resort. (B, L)
Day 19 : Franz Josef
Travel to the glacier town of Franz Josef, stopping en route at Ship Creek for a walk along the beach and through the rainforest. Stay 2 nights at Punga Grove. (B)
Day 20 : Franz Josef
This morning visit the isolated settlement of Okarito (with the opportunity to cruise or kayak on the lagoon) and the Waitangi Roto Nature Reserve. Afternoon at leisure with optional excursions including heli-hikes onto the glacier or soak in hot pools fed by pure glacier water. (B)
Day 21 : Punakaiki
Travel to Punakaiki via Hokitika. On arrival, visit the Pancake Rocks and blowholes before transferring to Punakaiki Resort for 1 night. (B, D)
Days 22-23 : Christchurch • Departure
Travel across the Southern Alps to Christchurch, visiting Arthur’s Pass en route (optional ride on the TranzAlpine train at an additional cost). Stay overnight at Chateau on the Park. The next day, transfer to Christchurch airport for your flight to next destination. (B)

  • 59 - 31 days before date of departure: 75% of total cost
  • 30 - 1 days before date of departure: 100% of total cost
If we change or cancel your holiday
  • We do plan the arrangements in advance. It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your travel arrangements.
  • Occasionally, we may have to make changes and we reserve the right to do so at any time. If there are any changes, we will advise you of them at the earliest possible date.
  • We also reserve the right under any circumstances to cancel your travel arrangements by assigning reasons to you.
  • If we are unable to provide the booked travel arrangements due to reasons beyond our control (e.g. bad weather):We shall first try to offer alternative dates for the tour if the tour hasn’t already commenced.
  • If the tour has already commenced, then we shall refund the booking price/fee charged to you on a pro-rata basis depending on the portion of the tour utilized by you.
  • In all circumstances, however, our liability shall be limited to refunding to you the price we charged as tour fees.

After confirmation of services, if you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way (e.g. your chosen departure date or accommodation), we will do our utmost to make these changes but it may not always be possible. Any request for changes must be in writing from the person who made the booking. All cost incurred due to amendment will be borne by you.
